Any Respite Program in your area - No matter what behavioral program you decide to do, the Respite programs are helpful. In our particular county, our respite program will pay a person up to 15 hours per month to work with our son. Typically, you can supply the "worker" as they are usually short on help. Supplying your own person is generally the best way to go. Even if you don't do a program, the respite worker can baby-sit for your child so that you can go out and spend some time alone or with another loved one.
Illinois ECI Clearinghouse - This group reimburses money to people that are disabled or their parents, so that they may attend conferences relating to their disability free of charge. There is of course a limit. Furthermore, they offer a library. (800) 852-4302.
